1. Demonstrate an understanding of the similarities between families now and in the past, including daily life today and in other times.

Study of daily life in at least one different historical period in preparation for comparing to life today.

The students will discuss similarities between families now and in the past through  activities related to literature,  Thanksgiving, fairy tales, and A Day in Colonial Dame School-Fort Western.

The students will draw then and now pictures (which might include clothing, games, school, cooking, transportation) and will be able to point out similarities.
